To decrease or delay the use of tobacco, alcohol and cannabis among teens, the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is championing the Icelandic model. Under that intervention, youth would know of activities available to them in the community and barriers to access those extracurricular options, such as cost and transportation, would be removed, instead of the current practice of messaging to not use these substances.
