About Planet Youth Nipissing

Planet Youth Nipissing is based on the Icelandic Prevention Model, a proven approach to reduce alcohol and drug use among youth and improve their wellbeing.

The Planet Youth approach empowers communities to work together to address the root causes of early substance use. The aim is to create healthy communities for children and youth, with a focus on strengthening protective factors such as positive relationships with family and friends, involvement in extracurricular activities, and school engagement.

What You Need To Know

The Steering Committee

Planet Youth Nipissing is an initiative taking place on traditional Anishinabek territory, on lands of the peoples of Nipissing First Nation and Dokis First Nation, and lands protected by the Robinson Huron Treaty of 1850. We are grateful to the caretakers of these lands, and strive to engage with and learn from Indigenous partners and communities to help foster Mino-Bimaadiziwin (the good life).
