Drug Free Kids Canada provides evidence-based information, resources, tools and support about youth substance use for parents, guardians, caregivers, teachers, and health care professionals.

Their Parent Support Hub is a free 24/7 online chat and call hotline to support parents by providing guidance and short-term counselling services.

One Stop Talk is a free, virtual, confidential service that provides kids and youth under 18 years of age with immediate mental health support from a registered therapist.

Amelia Rising Sexual Violence Support Centre provides free, completely confidential support for people 12 years of age and older who have experienced sexual or gender-based violence. Their service area is the District of Nipissing.

The North Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre supports urban First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people in pursuing Mno Bimaadziwin (a good life) through quality programming that welcomes the participation of non-Indigenous neighbours. The Centre has many programs for youth, such as the Urban Aboriginal Healthy Living Kids Program, Wasa-Nabin Program, Waaban Program, Youth Life Promotion.

Community Counselling Centre of Nipissing provides professional addiction services to youth aged 12 to 24. We also offer family support for caregivers of children and youth with developmental disabilities and/or FASD diagnoses, helping families navigate and coordinate available services.

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit offers healthy living and disease prevention services and information on a range of health topics, such as sexual health, vaccinations, and addictions. The Health Unit also works closely with schools, promoting physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being for the whole school community.

In February 2023, community partners in Nipissing District came together to learn about the Icelandic Prevention Model. Attendees heard a presentation from Jón Sigfússon and Robin Katrick of the Planet Youth team, who shared the background of the model, guiding principles, steps to implementation, and tools available for communities interested in getting started.

School Mental Health Ontario (SMHO) aims to enhance the quality and consistency of mental health promotion, prevention, and early intervention programming in Ontario schools. SMHO provides:

Triple P Positive Parenting Program gives parents simple and practical strategies to help them build strong, healthy relationships, confidently manage their children’s behaviour, and prevent problems from developing. Triple P also offers virtual group sessions for parents looking for additional tips and strategies.
